These are some point and shoot photos taken with my humble Nokia 8110 4G. For reference, all photos here are unedited although in my Facebook page, I would underexpose some as this brings out the picture and adds drama. I admit they are not high photographic quality as they were taken from a fixed lens of a budget feature handphone (after my iPhone 5S became a write-off being drenched in rainwater) which calls for a steady hand and a strategic lighting angle when there is poor lighting so what do you expect still, they represent snapshots for my memory data bank.

Murphy's law happened again.
Some time ago I made a spare key after I found my spare key that came along the day I took the bobber belongs to another motorcycle. The locksmith said the alloy of the original key was soft and the key was too long making it easy to snap.Today that happened. The spare key the locksmith gave me uses a real Honda replacement key, slightly more expensive but tougher and slots completely in so there's no chance of key snapping sideways. I need to make another. It is advisable to replace the original key with the shorter Honda key, can you image if you were somewhere out riding then the key suddenly snapped because you accidentally pushed it sideways while the chances of it happening is ZERO had the key been the shorter type? Investment cost :RM6

Nokia 8110 4G to the rescue!
Malaysia officially started selling Nokia 8110 4G on July 4th. I bought mine 6 days later: 29th or 7th out of 10 yellow units sold at an official Nokia vendor. My postings after July 10 mainly deal with usage whereas before was research. Which colour to choose? It bog me for quite sometime because both colours are appealing eventhough different personalities: the fresh, daring, youthful, fun-loving yellow version or the serious, no-nonsense, business-like ubiquitous black version. I ended up with the yellow version because I tend to misplace my handphone not that the black version is second class citizen. Note: Nokia 8110 4G is a budget phone, don’t do the silly mistake of comparing apples against oranges.
10 reasons why did I bought it?
1. Previous smartphone, faulty, drenched in rainwater as I ride a motorcycle;
2. Drip protection;
3. Tight budget;
4. Butter-fingers so choose polycarbonate case;
5. Small screen allows for a solid grip of the handphone;
6. Prefer keypads because fingers are not sensitive;
7. Good battery life a must. No smartphone can deliver this;
8. Replaceable battery;
9. 4G a must as I use 4G apps;
10. Nokia feature phones are tough as used before
I created a Facebook page about my Nokia 8110 4G here.

Killing time
2 months have just passed by since my hernia operation and I will have to wait another 4 months more as advised by the doctors before I can go riding the bobber again. So sad and frustrating but better to be wise than be sorry. I kill time firstly by applying rubbing compound to the body work which did an excellent job in giving that super smooth professional touch body work then finished it off by applying a protective layer of car polish. I've already cleaned the chain and rear axle with diesel which quickly and effectively dissolved grime and grit followed by a quick hosing off of the diesel to prevent it from 'eating' up the rubber component. I've already cleaned the spark plugs and found them to be sooty because I did not take the bobber for a spin already I did start up the bobber daily. Now, the road tax and insurance have expired while the battery has exceeded its warranty year and has already showed signs of aging and I have difficulty starting up the motorcycle. It is not no to renew the road tax and insurance as I will not be using the motorcycle for the time being but need to renew it before a year of dormant use from the date the road tax expired last October or else the motorcycle has to be sent for inspection.

Home cooking
On probation or 'house-arrest' by the doctors, I've decided to try my hand at home-cooking. The last time I dished out these 2 something (I got no name for what I cooked), my mother-in-law who happened to come by gave me 4**** considering she knows I don't know how to cook.Yeeeah! Wifey just came back and ate. She gave me 4**** Yeeah!
The lazy man's guide to effectively cleaning the motorcar's engine bay
I bought some diesel added some in an old spray container then sprayed the engine compartment of the Myvi as well as the twin carburetor of the bobber. In the olden days, I remember the military and taxi drivers would add some diesel in a pail of water then wash the car with it because diesel washes away grit and dirt. Later, Mother-in-Law's Proton Tiara's engine gets diesel cleaned. I make sure I hose the diesel some 5 minutes or so off the engine to ensure that it doesn't soften the rubber components in the engine bay and it can and it will.
A Must-Try drink
Whenever I go north, I always stop by Bukit Gantang R&R to relieve
myself,I guess I have a small bladder. Today, I was under this makeshift tent and watched this lady
pour santan-water into this big cendol container. It looked so creamy, I
could not resist a standard RM3 try. Boy-oh-boy, it was refreshingly
delicious. My relatives saw and wanted a sip. All confirmed it was so
delicious, a few more were bought. Highly recommended and worth a stop
even if not to pee.

Take 5
Life of a pensioner is dotted with chores: There's washing clothes, hanging clothes to dry, ironing clothes, folding dried clothes, preparing and cooking for lunch when there's no one to help, cleaning the toilets when necessary, watering the plants, taking out the rubbish, feeding the cats, going out for new groceries, etc. So after a while I really need to take 5...or maybe more :-D. The good news is that I've just started to do slow jogs as it's been roughly 3 months since my hernia operation (No earlier said my doctor) It's only 2km then I walk back though I can do my 20 push-ups with ease. No sit-ups (my usual is 20) said the doctor until after 4 months and no riding the bobber till after 6 months :-(
